Faultless experience, they managed to prioritise the service of my daughter’s flute so she wouldn’t miss too many lessons, she is very happy with the results and said it sounds and looks much better. Definitely recommend Flutes and Flutists

This is the place to go if you are after a new flute! The service is amazing, we were after an upgrade flute for my daughter and after explaining what level she is at, we were presented with two flutes to try. She expressed which one she preferred and another flute was presented for her to try and this went on a couple of times. It was very distinct when she finally found the one for her (after trying four flute). No doubt their expertise had made this experience so much easier. Just call them and make an appointment prior to visit.

I've just picked up my beautiful Powell (gold and silver) flute and my delightful Bulgheroni piccolo after their yearly spa-holiday after which they return home refreshed and ready for work. The skilled and precise work of Chris Leung and the guidance of the master technician, Jim Phelan, help these magical instruments to express their quite different personalities. With their help I play with less effort and magically the sound is so even.The editor in me asks - "Is this a little over the top?" Answer - "Not a bit!"

I live in country NSW and recently ordered a flute that was on sale for the end of financial year. They only had one left in stock and it had a ding in it so they offered to either fix it for me or give me one from their new stock when it arrived. I opted to wait for the new stock and it turned up at my door about a week later than it otherwise would have. I very much appreciated this level of customer service, especially given that it was a sale item. I absolutely love my new flute (Haynes AF580, for those interested) and highly recommend Flutes & Flutists for any flute-related purchases. They clearly love what they do and that enthusiasm translates into how well they look after their customers.

My rating is for customer service and not the shop itself as I haven't been there physically, but the level of customer service I received in Tasmania from the team in Sydney was as good as if it was in person. Thank you so much for helping me find my new flute. The courier process was so quick and smooth, and having the time to play the flutes in my own home was really valuable. I am so happy with my Haynes Q2 and am already getting lots of pleasure out of playing it, which I know will only develop as time goes on. Your incredibly generous sale was what convinced me to buy at this particular time, but after this excellent customer service I would not hesitate to trust Flutes & Flutists at any time, sale or not. 🙂 Thank you!

Highly recommended business. I have been a customer of flutes and flutists for a number of years. The service David, Lindy and the team give is always exceptionally amazing. I always have my flutes serviced by these guys and with my recent service, my flute is in the best condition. I would highly recommend this company to all flute players - this team is truly the best!!!

Excellent service and a very large range of flutes within the price range we were looking at. We never felt rushed or pushed into purchasing any particular flute and are very thrilled with the flute we eventually bought. We recently purchased a Haynes flute for our 11yo daughter from Flutes and Flutists. Mark, David and Lyndie were all very helpful,friendly and patient whilst we made our choice. They are all vastly experienced professional flute players themselves so you can trust the advise that they give you. Once we established our budget, our daughter was given a selection of flutes to try. Mark listened very carefully to my daughter's playing of each flute and then made a recommendation. He explained why he felt a particular flute suited my daughter more than another. In the end we were very happy with the flute we chose.

I am so happy with my purchase of a Haynes Amadeus flute - it was the best decision in my flute life. I was not sure what flute brand to upgrade to and really wanted advice from a 'specialised' store instead of a general music store - very glad that I visited your store. I had an idea of the brand - Haynes Flute - that I wanted to upgrade to and learn on but still wanted 'genuine' advice on the brand.The staff member Mark Xiao being a professional flute player was able to explain everything that I needed to know to make an informed decision. I cannot express enough gratitude for the 'genuine' customer service and in-depth knowledge that I received from Mark.The Haynes Flute has the most beautiful and deepest sound that I have ever heard and played on any flute. This flute 'fits' my personality perfectly and I feel very confident when I play this flute - absolutely love my flute 🙂

I bought the Thumport II a month ago and I am very happy with the purchase. After playing the flute for 40+ years I didn’t feel I had a problem with my RH ring finger. However, once I fitted the Thumport II I was surprised to feel a even more relaxed hand without my ring finger occasionally being stiff at the middle joint. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose. As far as visiting the store, I have not had the opportunity, but I have been very aware of the excellent flutes for sell and the great reputation that Flutes and flutists has earned. This is due to my many years working for the Conservatoriums in Lismore and Grafton.

I was not able to find a thumb port for my alto flute in the U.S. so I contacted your store by email. Mark Xiao was so helpful in determining whether the alto thumb port would fit my flute. He had it mailed out and it fits. So happy to have it.

I've never experienced service like this before. Mark went so far above and beyond to ensure I purchased the instrument that was right for me, even in the midst of such challenging times. I'd heard rumours that Flutes and Flutists were the best, having experienced first hand, I can now say they absolutely exceed expectations. The bar has been raised to a level now insurmountable. My son and I recently purchased a flute from Flutes and Flutisits.The service we received was outstanding Mark was etremely knowledgeable, the staff were not #pushy" The staff were very professional and friendly. They were very patient and happy to answer all our questions they even offered to drive to our home so my husband to could listen to our son on the flute. Mark or David did not make derogatory remarks about other brands of flutes or other stores that sold flutes, which I found refreshing. Mark spent a great deal of time ensuring that the flute we purchased was suitable for my son and that the flute he purchased was suitable to his playing style and ability. Marks primary concern was that Steven was comfortable playing the flute and was happy with the sound he produced. I could not fault the service we received and if I ever have to purchase another flute or piccalo I will be buying it from Flutes and Flutists. Sorry for the long post.

David and his team were so accommodating when my daughter was trying out her flute first in Brisbane and then sending added flutes 400km for us to try. Great to have old fashioned service. Nothing was too much trouble and we certainly appreciated it.

My Son and I had an excellent experience at Flutes and Flutists recently. It was time to upgrade as his junior Flute was holding him back and so we went on the advice of our tutor. All the staff were very knowledgeable, as you would expect, they were also very patient and found several options in our price range for my son who tried each one and found an affinity with one in particular. We are delighted with the Flute, and with the service we received, we felt understood, were not rushed in any way and the whole experience was positive and quite exciting actually. The dedicated help and support was really good especially for a non musician like me. Also the hand written note of thanks and encouragement we received in the mail was a very nice surprise. These guys do service VERY well. Bravo, we'll be back.

I recently took my daughter to see Anne and Mark about upgrading her flute. her student flute just wasn't meeting her standard anymore. we found Anne through her music instructor. I'm so thrilled we did. we went to her place and Mark and her guided Molly through the new flute selection, keeping in mind my budget. this I greatly appreciated.

I very much enjoyed my time here, exploring with Ben different flutes I could get. His advice was considered and attentive, and I was delighted with the Haynes Amadeus flute I eventually got. 🙂 Mark was also very helpful in setting up the appointment and providing follow-up advice and contacts for maintaining my flute back in my home country.

This is just a short message to thank you and David for all the amazing work you do for the flute community in Australia – be they performers, teachers, dabblers, listeners, family of any of the foregoing or a combination (like most of us). The concert held in the blue mountains back in January as part of the Emily Beynon course was yet another example. I don’t know any other individuals or businesses who make the same sort of contribution to flute enthusiasts or enthusiasts of other instruments. You go to so much trouble and you always seem to come up with a slightly new “take” on things as well. I am so looking forward to this year’s Flute Festival and it’s lovely having it here in Brisbane.
