By 1979 he met British flutist William Bennett with whom he began to enhance his knowledge of flute making, acoustics, and head joint designs.
In 2006 Miguel started his own company, Miguel S. Arista Flutes, in Lincoln, MA. For the past forty-one years he has nearly perfected his unique craftsmanship of head joint and flute making.
